What is PPx Therapy?
Photopneumatic Therapy is an FDA cleared therapy and is the first no pain cosmetic procedure for the treatment of sun damaged and aging skin, including brown spots, redness and broken capillaries, as well as unsightly veins.
How is PPx Therapy different from other laser and light based treatments for skin rejuvenation?
There are several key differences between PPx and other laser and light based skin rejuvenation treatments.

- Treatments are faster. Facial rejuvenation may take between 10 - 15 minutes, while treating a large area such as both your arms for sun damage might take up to 20 - 30 minutes.

A “pulling up” motion gently lifts a small amount of the treatment area into a specially designed hygienic treatment tip. Targets (unwanted hair, unwanted pigments and unsightly veins) are lifted and brought closer to the skin’s surface. When therapeutic light is applied, the light is converted to a gentle heat energy which is absorbed by the target (unwanted hair, unwanted pigments and unsightly veins). The energy applied is concentrated in the target to be destroyed, protecting the surrounding normal tissue. Skin is then instantly returned to its normal position and the treatment handpiece is moved onto the next treatment area. The process is repeated until the entire treatment area is covered.

How does PPx Skin Rejuvenation feel?
PPx Skin Rejuvenation is very comfortable. You will feel a gentle and warm sensation as your skin is drawn into the treatment tip. A very gentle light energy will be applied to the treatment area, immediately after which you will feel your skin being gently released back into normal position. Patients describe the sensation as being similar to that of a warm massage.
Do I need to take time off from work to recuperate?
PPx is a fast, no down-time procedure. You can resume normally activities including going back to work immediately post treatment.
Will I need anesthesia?
No, PPx Therapy is a no pain treatment. No anesthesia or numbing creams are necessary.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on the condition being treated. For example, facial skin rejuvenation may require 5 treatments at 3 week interval. For specifics on the number of treatments as they relate to your condition, please consult with your treatment provider.
